About Dr. Irene Yeung

Where Medicine, Tradition & the Individual Meet

Dr. Irene Yeung believes that exceptional healthcare begins with seeing the whole person not simply the symptoms.

Her path to Traditional Chinese Medicine began with an unexpected moment that she has never forgotten.

The Moment that Changed Everything

At a gathering with friends, family, and children, Dr. Irene was watching the children play when she noticed a five-year-old boy chasing a little girl nearby.

Suddenly, everything changed.

The boy froze and collapsed to the ground, his body jerking uncontrollably. As an EMT, Dr. Irene immediately recognized that he was having a seizure. But she had not brought her medical equipment with her. She watched, searching for a way to help, while feeling the helplessness of not having the tools she was accustomed to relying on.

Then, seemingly out of nowhere, a woman appeared.

She calmly knelt beside the child, opened her purse, and began placing acupuncture needles along his body with practiced precision.

Moments later, the boy became still.

Then came a burst of tears as he called for his mother.

Dr. Irene remembers the overwhelming sense of relief she felt in that moment—and the questions that followed.

What else could this ancient medicine do?

That experience sparked a curiosity that would ultimately change the direction of her career.

From Engineering to Medicine

Dr. Irene’s professional journey did not begin in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

With a background in architectural engineering and experience as an EMT, she had already developed an appreciation for science, structure, and the human body’s ability to respond to injury and illness.

But the experience that day opened the door to another way of understanding health.

She went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, followed by intensive clinical internships and mentorships in Beijing, China. She continued her education and training until earning her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Her journey across disciplines ultimately shaped the way she practices today: with respect for the traditions of Chinese medicine while remaining grounded in a modern, medically informed approach to patient care.

A Different Way to Look at Your Health

For  Dr. Irene, integrative medicine does not mean abandoning conventional healthcare or treating every condition with a purely holistic approach.

It means asking more questions.

What else could be contributing to this?

How are these symptoms connected?

What does the patient’s entire health history tell us?

And how can different approaches to medicine complement one another?

This perspective is particularly valuable when a patient’s health concerns are complicated, persistent, or involve multiple systems of the body.

Dr. Irene’s role is to help patients make sense of that bigger picture and create a thoughtful path forward.

Beyond the Diagnosis

At the heart of Dr. Irene’s practice is a simple belief:

Everyone deserves the opportunity to feel healthier, function better, and live well.

Her goal is not simply to treat a condition. It is to help patients better understand their health and feel supported throughout the process.

Whether someone is seeking care for a specific medical concern, managing a complex condition, or looking for a more integrated approach to their overall health, Dr. Irene meets each patient where they are with curiosity, compassion, and individualized attention.

Ancient wisdom. Modern medicine. Personalized care.
